The Timelessness of Fresh Home Roasted Coffee !

There’s something timeless about fresh home roasted coffee. From the smell of green coffee beans, the crackle and smell of coffee beans roasting, blowing away the coffee chaff, grinding the roasted beans into powder and finally an excellent fresh cup of coffee!

If you’ve not tried fresh home roasted coffee, you must try it sometime. Freshly roasted means consuming it within 1 to 2 weeks after roasting. Even better, grind and consume a day after roasting.

After trying fresh home roasted coffee (and freshly ground too!), everything else tastes ‘flat’, even the vacuum sealed ‘fresh’ coffee beans or coffee powder.

It is a time consuming and laborious process baking Kueh Lapis. It also requires experience and a skilled hand ensuring each layer is as even as possible. Baking it just right is also important – not over cooked or under cooked. Not easy, considering the thickness of each layer is only 3mm or less.  Furthermore, you have to be near the oven and watching all the time while baking kueh lapis.
